Information
- Easy to use, adaptable material for all moulding applications.
- Suitable for decorative cast objects, mould cases, wall panels.
- Supplied with a range of ancillary products including glass reinforcements, pigments, fillers, and control chemicals to adapt the material to the widest range of applications.
- Jesmonite AC100 base (powder) is comprised primarily of natural gypsum mineral and as such, slight variations in colour from white to cream are normal. Pigments should be used to achieve the desired, consistent colour. It is necessary to add white pigment to achieve a white final product.
- The ultimate chameleon material can replicate virtually any surface, colour, or texture.
- AC100 should be removed from its mould after about 20-40 minutes. Though it will be mostly set, it achieves its full strength after approximately 24 hours (depending on thickness). See the user guide below for full details.
- Can be thickened for use in a gel coat or vertical application using Jesmonite Thixotrope.
I can’t get the spout to work. I removed the plastic security piece on the spout, but it still doesn’t work when I push it down. Only a few little drops come out at a time even when I squeeze the bag. Horrible packaging design. What a pain in the butt.
We've reached out directly via email to assist with this issue, and will be more than happy to help via email.
Thanks for taking the time to reach out - we apologize for the frustration. Due to the feedback about this packaging format, we've just released an update to it which includes a screw cap for greater flexibility - this packaging format is no longer in use.
For this particular instance, we recommend the following steps:
- Flip the box upside down so the spout is pointing up.
- While holding the spout tap flaps open, insert a paperclip or similar into the spout and move it around the outside to loosen any dried material being careful not to damage the rubber stopper. Remove anything that can be seen, and try to clear a pathway into the bag as much as possible.
- Release the spout flaps to allow the spout to close
- Remove the bag from the box.
- With the spout over a container you wish to pour into, open the spout, and squeeze the bag to add some pressure behind the spout (you can squeeze it fairly hard, and should do so to give it a good push to start).
- This should start the flow of liquid.
If you are still having trouble, please get in touch with us by to replying to the message we've sent, and we'd be more than happy to help you get this resolved.
spout won’t work for the liquid (tried all the suggestions in the comments) and both the parts of the seal for the base are stuck to one side, can’t keep it open so i’ve to find something to store the base in! getting 3.5kg packs is simpler but they’ve made that more expensive to buy multiple packs of 3.5 kgs! This is an absolute waste of hundreds of dollars! Quite disappointed
We are sorry to hear you're having trouble! We will reach out privately via email as well to assist.
It sounds like perhaps you may have opened the powder bag by cutting the top, rather than pulling the opening tab - this would cause the seals to be on one side. What we'd recommend doing is taking a strong piece of tape, like duct tape, and taping the top of the bag shut. Next, on the side of the bag, there is a tab that says 'Open Me With Tab', pull there, and that will pull a strip off the side of the bag and expose the seal which can be re-closed. That should help with the powder issue.
As for the liquids - I am sorry to hear you are having trouble here! In some cases, a bubble can form in the tap and it needs a bit of pressure to get going. To solve this, while holding the tap open over top of a container you wish to pour into, please squeeze the bag very hard to add pressure behind the spout and see if that gets it flowing. If that doesn't work, please let us know by replying to the email we've sent you.
We understand this added step with the liquid is a frustration - so as of this week, we've just released our new packaging format for this product size which includes a screw cap as well.
Lastly, we have not changed the price of the AC100 3.5kg packages, however we do now allow the option to by the liquid and base separately. To find the 3.5 kit at the same price, please click on Shop > Jesmonite AC100 > JESMONITE AC100 - 3.5KG Kit
Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can assist further, we are always happy to help, and we apologize for your frustration in this case.
